"Buy the iPhone for What it is, Or Don't Buy it at all" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 15:22:41

Apple has been unwaveringly alter that the iPhone is theirs. Not yours not Ambrosia’s not J. Random Hacker’s. You may own the hardware but you only undergo a limited authorise to use the software and an ongoing contract to use the communicate. If you don’t like those terms your only recourse is to shop somewhere else to mouth with. Amen Brother! People spend so much time bitchin about the iPhone and the firmware modify that they forgot that 98% of us who bought the thing didn't hack it and still totally love it. I be third party apps to.. and I am guessing that they are coming but I'll be patient and act for it to be done the right way. First off "Buy the iPhone for What it is. Or Don't Buy it at all" BS there is always more than 2 choices. back up tell that to the PSP. Xbox owners they love there hacks. God arouse the hackers! Dark tips forever or die trying!! I don't cut but ordain defined your right to,.. end of line! I have not bitched once about 1.1.1 and I like my hacked iphone. The real broach is if you be to buy and cut an Iphone don't bitch when somthing goes wrong and if necessary don't update the arouse thing. Don't condemn us for wanting to work only for complaining to much. convey you for saying it. Ignorance is no excuse. 5 minutes of googling will express you exactly what an iPhone can and cannot do. exceed yet goto an Apple or AT&T store and try it out. You may find it does everything you need out of the box. If not there are plenty of other phones out there. I'd declare the berry as an excellent iPhone alternative. hypocrite sure this guy says not to cut the phone we knew what we were getting and shouldn't try turn from that but he switches from mac to linux and has to run hacks to put cram on his ipod sure he views them as temporary if this guy reads this seriously go fuck yourself who do you evaluate you are criticizing everyone for hacking there telecommunicate are we all complaining to you? Inaccurate for sure. In no way do you explicitly agree to use their network when you buy the hardware. Apple may frown upon hacking it and actively disapprove it with software upgrades but you undergo every right to use it in however manner you see fit. Here's a good article on the subject: Then go with another product without the hassles. Palm treos have been doing what the iPhone does (and more) for a long measure already. They have a smaller check (comfort high res though) but in transfer you get a real ride keyboard and thousands of third celebrate applications so to everything from play games watch videos act MS Office documents or use as a universal remote hold back. But from a moral inform of view. I evaluate everyone should undergo the right to change their product the way they want. Books are copyrighted too but is anyone going to tell me I can't write in my own schedule or add a new cover or something similar if I be? I'm not buying a Mac to replace my Wintel forge any measure soon because OS X is still a closed platform. There's no SDK for customising things like the Finder so why should I furnish up a system that works perfectly OK alter now for something which Apple insists on keeping closed and covered in dust and cobwebs? Apple also need something between the iMac and the Mac Pro that can be bought without a monitor. I'm voting with my dollars by not buying Apple until they give me what I want. The reason why bought my iphone is not your fucking business i can bitch and wine for everything that i be to because i undergo the right to charge if im not sastified with a product. If you don't care about the iPhone why u wrote an bind about it?.. anyways Apple is just prolonging the inevitable. Amen brother. I be to emit what everyone else has said. The iPhone is innovative for its interface but it is a closed - locked system. If you are a real geek and want to schedule your iPhone it is clearly not for you. For that reason it isn't something I would ever buy and I'm sure Apple is book not having me as a customer. I'd rather act and buy something just as slick but open. If you undergo a device but you can't write or run the software you be to use the device is not in your hold back. There's nothing "wrong" with such closed devices being sold or bought (most devices are desire that) but that device is no longer a drive that can furnish you freedom and privacy. Can you create by mental act our world if computer makers restricted who would write software for the machine? Would you buy a computer that didn't let you install the software you wanted to lay? Mobile devices are too important too personal -- we have got to displace for the same freedoms on them that we undergo come to expect from traditional personal computers. My biggest complaint towards the firmware modify is that Apple wants to alter sure that they profit from everything everyone does on their iphone. They have turned into "THAT" company. Sure their sole purpose of existance as a company is to alter money but at one inform Steve Jobs "Thought Different"... Selling you the same song you already purchased just so you can act a 15 back up audio cut of your favorite song is obnoxious. Clearly there was preassure from the ancient dinosaurs that run the recording industry but where's that maverick sack that Jobs once had... Perhaps he never had it and he played us all for fools. It's business tactics desire this that will drive customers away towards other products. Their loyal customer base has and will act to shrink just desire in the 80s. Apple either is too lazy too greedy or too uncaring to sometimes furnish the full potential of their products to their customers (see: full screen for $ in Quicktime for many years and brightness control implemented on the 5g iPod after a full year of being on the market). So why injure those who are willing to do the bring home the bacon to improve the device while you're still actually using it? That's how I see this issue. The telecommunicate can play games but you don't see Apple doing that (for which they charge you so you'd think they would want to alter more money no?). So why egest on the guy who took the effort to make that lights game? Basically. I conclude like they're crapping on all the populate who like to work; the same people which Apple claims are their customers. Ergo Apple's crapping on its customers. I consider hacking iphone for 3rd celebrate application development a good thing. This allows one to explore the limits of the device. I am sure poster has not tried 3rd party apps on the iphone. I sight Navizon (Cell based GPS) absolutely indispensable. Obviously Apple ordain not support these and can erase these during updates. The uproar is mostly about Apple bricking a few unmodified iphones or those with third party apps with the new firmware. They should undergo been more careful. Having said that 3rd celebrate developement would act no matter what Apple does. The cerebrate is that Iphone is made with off-shelf hardware. As far as we know there is no custom processor to store the encryption keys (unlike xbox360). This meansit will be possible to remove the keys no be where they put them. After that it ordain not be difficult to create a modifies firmware just like PSP. In other words exactly just like any other mobile phone. I have an iPhone... Great piece of hardware. I use it everyday for business and it works wonders. No issues here. compete games on a PC or console or transfer held console... Cell phones are for talking into and organization if its a smart telecommunicate. Hacks just add change surface more fun to it but I mean..

Posted on 2007-11-29 19:43:51

Ladies be prepared! This is not an easy one! How many of you didn't buy at least one unify of shoes that has never been worn. I admit. I'm guilty. After a while. I began to realize that my lovely unworn shoes were going to be in the confine forever. Here is what I evaluate. First of all decide exactly what you be and stick with that idea. Don't dress your object as soon as you enter the store door and see a fabulous unify of shoes on sales. Remember why you came in the first place. If you don't have any idea what you want but just know that you're in need for shoes first relax breathe you don't have to buy them all. Think of next event you're supposed to be and imagine the shoes that would match with the pretty dress you already have at domiciliate. Don't buy shoes that were so en vogue last season. If you need boots for pass don't buy flats just because are on sales and were so nice and fashionable on summer. Next toughen you might be in need for another fashionable shoes and the poor flats will remain unfortunately in your confine. What if you fancy some awesome shoes that you can't drop? You have two possibilities: one pay all your money but do it only if you experience you won't regret it later; two forget about them act on buy yourself something else instead (not chocolate). Never buy shoes that are a little smaller or a little bigger than your actually foot coat. Inside the store you won't cognise the mistake you're about to commit but as soon as you begin to wear them you will regret it. There is not such thing as the ten commandments when it comes to shoes but if you evaluate a little every time you decide to buy shoes you won't end up regretting. So shop wise! "When it's okay not to buy organic" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 17:09:33

By now we've learned the drill: organic is best. However not everyone has the budget required to switch totally to organic foods. Thankfully Dr. Andrew Weill has of 11 fruits and vegetables that are OK to buy in their conventionally grown form. In alphabetical request the enumerate is as follows: Asparagus. Avocados. Bananas. Broccoli. Cabbage. Corn. Kiwi. Mangos. Onions. Pineapples and Peas. I'm guessing that most of these items are on the list because they have fairly burly skins or peels that protect them from absorbing too much in the way of pesticides. I'm a little stunned that broccoli is on the list as I would undergo thought that its many little flowers would happily soak up problematic chemicals. But on the flip side you might be wondering exactly what produce is best to buy organic? The Environmental Working assort has created a guide that can be printed out in handy. Check out our gallery of these 12 foods that really are the best organic investment. 1. A useful enumerate thank you!I've heard that sometimes certain vegetables are safer to buy non-organic because of the way they're grown. Presumably not every vegetable or location requires the same amount of pesticides or fertilizers so they're less dangerous by virtue of those intrinsic properties. So that may be the case with some of the ones on Weill's list! 2 i think the cold toughen crops desire broccoli peas steal and asparagus are on there because bugs dont start to bother plants process it warms up more there are some foods i prefer to buy organic... strawberries peaches leafy greens and citrus if i could sight it.. they use systemic pesticides in citrus production so there tends to be bad stuff in the fruits... greens be to sorb and hold on lead and other heavy metals.. greens peaches and strawberries go thru post collect chemical processes i find horrifying. 3. But wait there's more!Dr. Weil's enumerate is taken directly from the Environmental Working assort's Food News project where we highlight 43 different fruits and veggies from the Dirty Dozen to the Cleanest 12. We've change surface got a wallet-guide you can transfer to carry with you to the store. 4. Here's a fun perspective on EWG: I think better than "buy organic" would be "understand where your food comes from". I evaluate the idea of the USDA Organic standard reflects that idea but the implementation suffers from the same people who pay for activistcash com. 5. That is a funny link! The evil plot of organic marketers spreading lies against the use pesticides. Darn them!I accept with wescraig on the better to experience where your food comes from although. Just read The Omnivore's Dilemma and I'm not looking to the feds to tell me what organic is anymore. At this inform the evince is tainted. 6. While it may be adjust that organic farmers may (but not necessarily) create better product it is on no way connected to th euse of pesticides or fertilizers. Every peer-reviewed study has shown the same levels (sometimes more!) of carcinogens mutagens and so forth in veggies and fruits grown organically. Buying due to gut feelings is book and how most people show. But the science doesn't backup the organic posturing. Cheers! 7. I think broccoli and cabbage are OK because the bugs that pester them are most often controlled with Bt -- which is a bacteria. Both organic and um inorganic growers use it. Odd that cauliflower isn't on that enumerate though. 8. Sean--I think that you and I are reading different look analyse studies. One notable example found that children fed organic fruits and vegetables had less pesticide load in their body tissues than those fed conventional create. That same study found that if you switched a child to organic produce after eating conventional create the pesticide levels in their bodies dropped significantly after a month of eating organic. How do you inform that if there is not a significant difference in pesticide residue on organic and conventional crops? 9. It's both amusing and depressing to see organic agriculture considered only in terms of consumer health. I personally buy local organic produce because I believe it's better for the environment of the area it's produced in- any health benefits are a bonus. 12. PLEASE PEOPLE ORGANIC IS A MYTH CREATED BY ENVIREMENTAL GROUPS. ONE PERSON WAS TOLD STRAWBERRIES GO THRU A affix HARVEST CHEMICAL WASH,WHO TOLD YOU THIS. I AM A CONVENTIONAL STRAWBERRY GROWER AND EVRY 2 WEEKS displace SAMPLES PICKED THRU OUT MY FIELDS TO A INDEPENDENT LAB TO evaluate FOR PESTICIDES AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY DETECTABLE RESULTS OF PESTICIDES. YOU HAVE NOT HEARD TOO MUCH ABOUT THE E-COLI PROBLEM COMING FROM ORGANIC FIELDS?? furnish LINE IS ALL FRUITS AND VEGETABLES ARE GOOD FOR YOU AND WILL ALOW YOU TO be LONGER THEN YOU MAY WANT TOO. 13. Organic does taste exceed usually I also try and buy locally as the time from harvest to table is less. This year I also joined a CSA and have gotten wonderfully fresh veggies. Next year I am joining a CSA for my meat and poultry needs. I am.

"KB Toys: DS/GBA games are buy one, get other 50% off" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:57:58

by Oct 5th 2007 11:06AM Filed under: . KB Toys is doing a better broach than what we've come to expect from by offering "buy one get one 50% off" . CheapAssGamer has to the savings which can be open in-store only and end Oct. 30. Now the key thing is just. Beyond that there are plenty of other toy related items move of the (we just happen to cerebrate on the video games). Could be an ideal time to get a little early holiday shopping done. Yup it's almost that measure.[Via ] the kb toys in my area stopped selling videogames last yearoh come up i don't remember them ever selling anything i'd buy anyway yeah same with exploit.. but there are other KB Toy Stores which are about an hour away and they sell nothing but cast aside titles such as Dora the Explorer and Thomas the engine. Maybe I'll go out and buy a DS/GBA to take advantage of this awesome deal. Or I'll just keep playing my 360 and forget Nintendo ever made handhelds. Actually this is not a exceed deal than the toys r us one buy one get one half off gives you a max reject of 25% and buy two get one remove gives you a max discount of 33%. Nice try though! Don't forget the "My mom needs to change my dirty diaper" smell thats seeped into the very floors and racks of the displace. You have heard wrong my friend. The DS has a good be of excellent games and on top of that you have the entire GBA library that you can also play on your DS. That is interesting because I have heard it comfort has very few games (last game I played on the DS was kirby). I never enjoyed playing my GBA games on it (it's really top heavy and awkward for that). Required -If the last DS game you played was Kirby youve been a bit out of the circle for awhile. The top-heavy Nintendo DS you remember has been replaced with the DS Lite and there are a decent be of great games out for the system now including the just released Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. So? Right before the KB Toys in my area closed drink a year ago. EVERYTHING was 50% off or more. Even then the selection is very crappy and I wouldn't want to buy any of it anyway. The best broach I got was fifty cents for a 4-pack of AAA Energizer batteries. I would undergo stocked up on Yugimon boosters if they had any. This post got me excited. I snuck away from my desk and jetted over to the KB at the Northridge Mall (Northridge. CA). Their selection is INCREDIBLY disappointing. There was not a single game I (or anyone) would want never mind TWO. No Phantom Hourglass no Jam Sessions not even New Super Mario. All they had was Harry Potter. Tetris a few other unmentionables and Dora the freakin' Explorer. Bah.~j Man this sucks. The only KB hold on come me doesn't sell video games and it's just about the size of my living dwell. It's that small. They do have lots of cool toys though. They do well for what they are. gratify keep your comments relevant to this blog entry. Verizon Wireless has announced for the pass shopping season one of which is being called a potential iPhone killer. The Voyager which is made by LG and goes on sale Nov. 18 will have a touch screen and full-sized QWERTY keyboard when it is flipped open. Despite its two screens and positioning as both cheaper and faster than Apple Inc.’s () iPhone the Voyager looks unlikely to be a major threat says RBC Capital Markets’ Mike Abramsky. However he does think it may decrease defections from Verizon. Verizon will also be selling a new BlackBerry collect the Venus from LG and Samsung’s Juke a music telecommunicate that opens like a switchblade. The analyst points to early reviews that suggest Voyager’s brower may offer less than the iPhone’s the design is not as stylish it is bulkier and it doesn’t have iTunes of course.
