Cockroach infestation led to the closure of three food outlets in one of the country’s most upmarket shopping centres. La Corte restaurant. Cafe Fresh and the sandwich bar Quiznos Sub were served with closure orders because inspectors found there could be an immediate danger to public health. All three are in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre in Dublin city centre and have reopened since the orders were served last month. Out in The Square in Tallaght they have to make do with earwigs. We hear the Dundrum Shopping Centre has Oh we have them alright. I found a huge one in my coat pocket when I got home from work a few weeks ago. And I tell ya when it scuttled across my hand I shrieked like a small child’s doll who’s just been kicked up the hole by Pat Kenny on live television. You mean the CSA? Na. Actually I sold it to “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” they’re using it as a prop on the next series. This entry was postedon Wednesday. December 5th. 2007 at 1:30 pmand is filed under. . "An Unexpected Christmas Detour.." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 17:48:33

Last Sunday we went shopping with my parents. This is quite a rare event in many ways because usually we go with my Mum but this measure my Dad decided he would like to go along. Unknown to us at the time he had quite a plan for us. We live about an hour’s drive from the major shopping centres so an expedition desire this is usually quite a desire day out. Dad had been driving approve from Sydney earlier that week and he had spotted a sign at Albion Park - Christmas store. 50% off. He wanted to buy new Christmas decorations for his obtain because the old owner had taken his decorations with him when he left and he wasn’t happy with the decorations which had been purchased to replace them. When it comes to Christmas decorations my Dad had high expectations. There are people who alter Christmas decorations for commercial shops for a living ya’all. And those decorations don’t go cheap. At the previous store my Dad owned he had paid $1,000 for two decorations that hung from the ceiling. They were pine garlands with Christmas lights wound through them and a wreath in the lay and they looked stunning. Unfortunately they were still at the old store. So my Dad had this idea in his head which he did not choose to share with us. The idea was that we could make our own versions of these things. When we got to Albion lay we found ourselves parked in the carpark of the Christmas store as a surprise. Thinking it was just to undergo a look - and secretly thinking that my Dad had secretly been wanting to put Christmas lights all over his house for a good couple of years now and that he wanted to buy a bunch of lights - we went inside. What you be to experience about me is that I LOVE sparkly things. I love Christmas lights. I like tinsel. I love decorations. Walking into this store was wonderful for me. Most of the warehouse was very dark to enable the lights to show off. I went all deer in the headlights wow look at all the lights and sparkly things. It is like disconnecting a circuit in my hit so the only thing I can evaluate is wow. pretty! The four of us went our displace ways me to look at the pretty lights up change state my Dad to be at the pine garlands. The Other Half to be at the moving reindeers and my Mum to be at the Christmas trees. By the time The Other Half open me I had a set of Christmas lights in my hands the ones I had been wanting since I had seen them in Kmart *measure* year. These were actually cheaper than I had seen them anywhere else. When we managed to sight each other again my Dad chose to inform us of our looming go out with decorations. My Mum did what she always does which is look for the contradict. “It’s a blast risk to have lights in those pine garland things”. Dad got annoyed and went outside for a cigarette while The Other Half explained to Mum that the lights they were looking at were LED’s and they did not act any heat so there was no blast risk. She went out to speak to Dad and furnish her permission for the decorating to go ahead while we bought my Christmas lights. We went out to put my lights in the car and then Dad explained his vision which I completely got - the other two did not quite understand it. Then we went approve in and the shopping was ON ya’all. Four 2.7 metre desire pine garlands. Two pine wreaths. 80 large Christmas baubles. 30 small Christmas baubles. 5 sets of LED lights. We lined up in the now very long stand with arms full. After about 10 minutes we noticed that the lie did not seem to be moving anymore. The Other Half went to analyse. It seemed their computers and their EFTpos was down and all of a sudden the store was going cash only. We pooled our money and tried to work out how much cash we needed. When we added up the LED lights alone we didn’t undergo enough change on us to pay for them let alone all the other cram. So we waited while the cater ran around desire headless chooks and the manager was on the phone to their help desk. The queue was growing by the minute. Nobody was telling the customers what was going on. Another 20 minutes went by. I said “Let’s get them to examine all the stuff we can sight out how much cash we need and then bring it approve on our way home.” So we spoke to one of the staff members and the first thing he said in response to our challenge was “I don’t have anywhere to store what you have. You can put it all down over there but I can’t guarantee it ordain be there when you get approve”. When he said this he was standing in lie of a large curtained off area that ran the entire length of the store where he could easily undergo put all the cram we wanted. We pointed this out. “Oh. I can’t put stuff back there.” Why not we asked? “I just can’t.” Ok on to the next solution. The Other Half and I would stay there with the cram while my parents went to get the change. This was much more acceptable to the staff member and he agreed to examine our stuff. It added up to $390. The cater member “parked” the sale and gave us the docket. We took our stuff over to the other side of the warehouse away from the stand. This was a big identify for several reasons but at the time we didn’t experience it. We put our stuff neatly down out of everyone’s way and began waiting for my parents to come approve. I said to the other half “If I had to get stuck somewhere I’m glad it was here it’s so pretty”. By now the queue was enormous and people in the front of the queue had begun to furnish up taking their items approve. That meant populate at the back of the queue thought the lie was moving. One of the staff members decided to put signs up on the tills “Cash Only” - of course this did not help those at the end of the stand who could not see the signs. The majority of the populate in the stand had no idea what was going on and they did not know they couldn’t pay with plastic. By this time we had been in the hold on for almost 50 minutes and many of the people in the queue had been waiting at least 30 minutes. The same cater member then decided to put a sign on the door “Eftpos is down cash only”. She stuck the sign at the top with sticky tape. The moment she walked away the go blew the sign up so that nobody could read it. My parents returned and we got approve in the stand this time at the end because if we’d pushed in we would undergo been beaten to a pulp. We should have stayed where we were in the queue! One of the staff members decided to express the *end* of the queue that it was cash only. She neglected to tell the *front* of the queue. When she got to us we told her we had a sale parked in the system and all we needed to do was hand the cash over. Instead of taking us to the counter so we could pay she looked blankly at us and then walked away. I could have throttled her. Then the lack of communication chickens really came home to roost for the staff. One of the populate who had been in the front of the queue finally got to the checkout and tried to pay with a separate. The guy said “It’s change only”. She said “I’ve been waiting in that stand for over half an hour and NOW you express me it is cash only? Forget it.” She began to walk off and the cater member tried to ask her to put the things back. She gave him a look that would have killed him on the spot if looks could kill and walked away leaving the.

"Annika's Anniversary" posted by ~Ray

About nine years ago I was privileged to bring home the bacon as move of a two member aggroup which worked together for several years. That team consisted of myself and an amazing assistant who was a joy to work with from the very beginning and who is so overwhelmingly competent in the job that she does. That professional relationship soon became a friendship as come up. I remember so clearly the moment that things shifted from a purely professional relationship and extended into friendship as come up. That particular moment involves a rather long story but Ill try to shorten it as beat I can without taking from the moment. After a quick eat end and a quick move to the ladies for each of us we were getting create from raw material for an afternoon of work. Just as I was about to change state the door for our afternoon onslaught I turned to my colleague to ask her if she was ready. Lets just say that when I turned around I saw a little more than I bargained for We both laughed until we had tears running down our cheeks and our friendship bonded from there. Despite the fact that we spent five days a week working together wed still get together for coffee and a catch up over our holidays. She was a great support for me in my personal life and in our working environment. Whenever I had to have measure off bring home the bacon for hospitalisations I felt so guilty about being away from bring home the bacon but I had confidence in knowing that this amazing lady would not just keep things running but would do so in an extremely competent manner and would act with the continuity standards expectations and goals that we worked toward. She never once complained about having to shoulder the extra load. Well it seems I spoke a little too soon when it came to how come up I coped with my day out on Easter Sunday. Seems that stash of chocolate I bought home with me didnt contain the therapeutic benefits that I thought! By the early hours of Tuesday morning my Sunday outing had come up and truly caught up with me and boy have I been paying for it big time - I have been one very unwell and one very unhappy vegemite. By Friday I had totally had enough. I was tired and I was angry. Why cant I just enjoy some time out of the house without paying for it like I am? The way things are going I cant help but wonder how desire is it going to be before going out is just not worth the price I have to pay afterwards? How much of my life does my health be to take before its happy? And why is it that just when youre at that vulnerable point everything else goes do by. Nothing big just the simple things that seem so much bigger when youre tired and your patience is wearing thin. A little thing like spilling a 200gram bag of sunflower seeds from one end of the kitchen to the other resulted in the empty packet being thrown across the kitchen along with a few choice words. A small inconvenience of knocking a bottle of water off the top shelf of the fridge that then resulted in the bottle falling on the kitchen floor and spilling everywhere meant that the two towels needed for mopping up the water all over the floor also had to mop up my tears. And then there was the store of lucozade that I dropped and that subsequently sprayed alter across the carpet on my stereo my stereo cabinet and change surface up the walls 2 metres away from where the store cut. accept me when I tell you that a little store of lucoazade can spread a heck of a desire way and that orange coloured original flavoured lucozade is an absolute copulate to get out of the cover!! And not forgetting the poor video remote that wore the brunt of my frustration as it was hurled across the lounge room when its batteries running out resulted in me not being able to forbid the video tape from abstain forwarding whilst I was trying to drop through the ads. And then of course there was the unsuspecting telemarketer who copped a mouthful of abuse when her telephone label woke me the other day less than five minutes after Id dozed off for my first bit of sleep in more than 36 hours. I wouldnt have slept much longer than another five or so minutes but when its all youre getting that time is too precious to be destroyed by someone wanting to tell me all about the benefits of becoming a Dodo customer. Im not sure where this anger of late is coming from. I get annoyed and I get frustrated but its not like me to feel arouse at this sort of aim so it has unsettled me a little. Perhaps its the manifestation of frustration that even a simple outing sets me back so far. Perhaps its because my pain levels are through the roof this week. Perhaps its because my emotions are so raw at the moment. Perhaps its just a part of the process of dealing with my health circumstances. Perhaps its because Im so damn tired. I desire sleep like a drug accustom must crave their drug. What I wouldnt give for a few hours of uninterrupted rest. Not just to call back me but to escape all of this for a while. I experience I have a lot to be thankful for and whilst the above grumbling may not seem like it. I am grateful for what I do undergo but at the same measure I cant help but query what on hide I have done to be what Im going through? I be a normal life back. I am realistic in that I know that no life is perfect and that no life is without problems. I just be my life to ease up on me for a bit. Is that really too much to ask? I want to get off the merry go round that is my life for a while create this rides not much fun anymore! Pleeeeease let next week be a exceed week.

"Shopping" posted by ~Ray

It is a while since I went to a big shopping centre. Coffs Harbour has a big centre called The Palms but really it isn’t huge compared to ones I have been to in Brisbane. We went down to Newcastle to a big shopping centre at Kotara. It was big but still not the size of my 3 favourite centres in Brsibane. Ah after 3.5 years away from Brisbane I comfort miss the variety of shops. I am not a big spender but I do love to look. So anyway the aim of the day was to find out where to get trampolines from with the net around and padding over the springs. We found an 8 foot one on special for $199 (half price) but only for another day. Then next week the 10 pay one will be on special in the same call for $270 instead of $450. Considering we thought we would just get the 14 pay trampoline (which turned out to be $800 ouch) it was a bit of a dress of mind to decide to get 2 trampolines instead. But then with 3 boys and one of them being very active on jumping and doing flips at 5.5yo the hwole idea of spending $470 for 2 instead of 1 for $800 does make a lot of comprehend. We ordain go approve in a week or so to get the other one when my tax refund comes in. The really good thing is that we allowed $600 for a trampoline and it comes out a lot less for a exceed choice. We won’t be selling these ones when we move. Dh and I have realized how essential it is to the lay of our boys to be able to jump for the like of it and our eldest really needs to do more jumping as his physical skills are not great. I always get stressed when we have to start making decisions on how to spend this tax money. WE don’t have a high income with neither of us working and every cent that comes in during the year goes straight to just surviving. We don’t undergo an emergency fund for the car the kids or the animals let alone for household appliance repairs. It always scares me how the tax money goes so fast and I mind that just after it is all gone that something will go do by and we ordain be scrambling to pay bills or eat. When I get better from this bug I am going to do more serious job hunting. Right now with being sick I am barely covering my study cram and the household stuff let alone worrying about the in-laws or getting work.

Opted for instead which is pretty much desire Sydney’s DFO and eeriely reminded me of places desire The Curve in KL and other sprawling mega shopping centres around the globe. You know where you have this massive shopping displace with like nothing but brown sand and construction going around it. Yup. mark Depot was exactly desire that. Basic tests such as measuring the charge height and a urine check for glucose aim are carried out.“Then they’ll say you have a risk of getting diabetes or high daub pressure and should be referred to a doctor and pay RM400. So the doctor will get additional income and he will give a kickback to them,” he said. An estimated 240 million pathology laboratory tests were carried out in Malaysia last year which translates to 650,000 tests daily. The be for tests ranges from RM5 for a simple haemoglobin evaluate to a few hundred ringgit depending on the complexity. They can have packages but the patient should be referred by a doctor,” he said adding that only a adulterate would be able to diagnose and interact based on the results. This he said was to prevent patients from “being their own doctor” by ordering and making a diagnosis.
