"What is the deal w/ the pillowcases?" posted by ~Ray

The Dreams Unlimited Travel information cannot be displayed because your browser does not support inline frames. How does the autrographed pillowcases work? Do you carry it around like your autograph books or do you turn one in to someone and they get the autographs? I'm feeling very clueless. Should I take DD autograph book on the ship? What is the deal w/ the magnets on the door? Do you buy them on the ship or make them up before you go on vacation? Thanks for answering my many questions. Hot for Frank or Doug or Edward from TS... I'm not picky You can take pillowcases and sharpies to Guest Services on the third deck and they will get them autographed for your children by characters and return them to you the last night. You can also leave an autograph book or just have your daughter carry it when she meets the characters. I also left picture mats for our special pictures to be framed with the autographs. I did leave fine point sharpies and wished I had left regular point sharpies to be more bold on the things we got autographed. Door decorations are made prior and put up if you want to do that. We also put a dry erase board up to communicate where each party of our stateroom was. It also made it easier to find our stateroom with the decorations on the door. I loved walking around and looking at all the decorations while cruising. There were not a whole lot decorated but it was still fun to see what people did and how more creative they were than me! There is a lot of creativity with the doors! There is a good link for the doors: Happy planning. Can't wait till we can cruise again! "Sham" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:36:08

After noticing that several of my house guests slept on my pillow shams rather than the pillow cases underneath. I began to suspect that not everyone knows what a sham is. Because a pillow sham isn't convey to be slept on; it is a decorative cover for a bed pillow that goes over the regular pillow case when the bed is all made up. Often pillow shams match the bedspread or cover and you ordain often find them sold as part of a bedding set. Admit it. Casa doesn't it drive you crazy when the guests rest on the shams? Especially when they are dry clean only and/or silk? desire you. I didn't realize people didn't GET it. But a great way to help them evaluate it out is to turn down the bed for them and place the sham pillows away! I don't put my shams over my pillow cases which are over the real pillows. I just put them over act fillers/stuffers (not sure of the correct term). I learned something new today. I always just thought the shams were extra fancy pillow cases. Haha. Now that i know what they are they be choose of desire a expend. I bequeath my mom made a big deal about us not sleeping on our shams. I thought everyone got the same lecture. Thanks for posting that comment yayapapaya. At least I'm not alone. I had no idea you weren't supposed to sleep on shams. Like yaya. I thought it was just an extra fancy pillow inspect! Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about this either since my family never used shams on our pillows when I was growing up. Yeah. I learned something new. Thanks. I always just put my shams on a few extra pillows that I put on the bed during the day. I don't sleep on them though.. not comfortable. wait a minute so you put the shams over an already "cased" pillow? and take the sham off to rest on the pillow?? I just buy two act pillows and put the act over that fling'em on top the chest at night and sleep on my regular pillows. I am with jennjenn- I always put the decorative shams on extra pillows merely to decorate the bed and the regular pillows have cases that match the sheets under the duvet. What a annoy to take those things on and off. I can't say I have even run into that as a guest. I sure wouldn't feel comfortable about ripping the sham off and probably would just use what they provided as is. The more pillows the better. No you don't take the shams on and off. They be on all the time and you act the sham pillows off the bed to rest and use the regular pillows. Oh thank god I'm not the only one who didn't know this!! I've never even heard the term "sham pillow" before. Am I very common? This reminds of of that Ben Stiller movie. "Along Came Polly" where he loses his temper 'cause he's egest of dealing with decorative pillows before going to rest every night. When I replace my pillows I use the old pillows in my shams and put the new pillow is matching pillowcases... I undergo NEVER heard of putting the pillowcased pillow IN the sham!!!! No wonder the guests are sleeping on them.. lol... i agree with jenn777 but i rest with two pillows so adding shams would take up half of the bed! authorise. I totally understand the pet peeve aspect but I can't over the idea of a covering you undergo to take off before you sleep. That or having pillows you just don't use? I can't imagine. Granted. I did come from the home where we had matching sheets let alone shams so maybe I'm just not used to it. comfort a useless pillow seems a shame. this little story so reminds me of 'along came polly' with jen anniston n ben stiller those stupid little pillows i dislike them do you cognise how much of your life you watse just making the bed everyday??? it amounts to days!! just get rid of them!! they are a waste of time my advice: DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE MAKING THE BED eatyourveggies ---- i didn't see ur comment till after i already posted we must share the same brain lol totally accept Umm. aren't pillows with shams put on top of the normal pillows (with pillowcase) and then removed to sleep? I have never in my life seen just one set of pillows with act and normal pillowcase both on the pillow! If I did run into that. I suppose I would rest on the sham as well. Actually. I would probably question my entertain as to where the pillows were located. Anyway if you type the evince pillow enough it doesn't change surface be like a word anymore. They probably slept on them because they were the only pillows. And they probably wondered why you put shams on the only pillows lol. Pillow act:"Decorative fabric coverings for pillows often designed with trims flanges ruffles or cording. Not to be confused from simple pillow cases for sleeping on shams are placed behind the sleeping pillows when the bed is made up." yea I also thought that shams were purely used over (useless) pillows to be decorative not to be placed over pillows that already have regular cases on them. "Comment by Ashtoreth on Culinary Adventures in San Francisco" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 19:00:35

My preserve and I just got approve from San Francisco a city known as a mecca for foodies and culture vultures. Some populate live for the Rocky Mountain high. I always thought they were on drugs. My beloved girlfriend since ancient times is one of these hearty sorts. She is nature girl and likes nothing more than to be roughing it in the wild with her hubby and the bears. Not for me. I am a confirmed urbanite who prefers that a hike end in a café that serves up Illy espresso; where temples of make and art are all within walking distance and the ‘wildlife’ wears green hair and Doc Martens not fur attached to mile-long fangs. I prefer mints on my pillow to ants in my pants. And if I want to see the top of Mt. Whitney. I’ll watch the Discovery bring. San Francisco is a city I like for many reasons; their love of art create by mental act and architecture is expressed in multiplicity. Relative to the creation and enjoyment of food in San Francisco the bar is held higher than almost anywhere else in the country. It is the city’s religion discussed in depth by people of all ages and genders. Food how it is grown (locally and sustainably) how it is prepared and then by whom are subjects of common discussion and a great way to break the ice with the locals talking about one of their defining passions. I open it amusing how passionately they try to distance themselves as far apart from their Southern California cousins as possible. Truth be told. San Francisco is closer to my native city of Washington. D. C in temperament than to Los Angeles. In LA we undergo movie television and music stars. In SF they undergo celebrity chefs whose names were murmured to us in hushed tones desire this should set off flashes of immediate recognition and culinary orgasms of anticipation. In this age of information overload we just politely nodded and gasped as names flew over our heads. Our culinary journey began with a resounding collide with in the LA airport. This is a no-man’s arrive where caught unprepared with a delayed flight you will have to - gasp! - forage for something to eat. We settled on some sandwiches and cappuccino from a faux-Euro café which we ordain call ‘Café Bastille’ because its victuals conjured images of what one might undergo been fed whilst waiting for one’s appointment with the behead. The rats are just for ambiance. (I communicate.) Still two make tuna sandwiches from a refrigerator bin proudly labeled ‘Organic and Prepared… Recently’ a bag of BBQ potato chips and a weak cappuccino later we were cursing. Not only because the sulfates in the sandwich were making us egest and spacy but because this lunch had cost us $28! Our flight cost $128. You do the math!Luckily. San Francisco and its bucolic spread of restaurants and bistros of all persuasions awaited us only an hour's flight away. It is very hard to have a terrible meal there though some are better or pricier than others which brings me to the interesting epiphany we came to whilst exploring this gastronomical landscape. Haute cuisine does not necessarily a good meal make. In my opinion good food is a combination of quality in ingredients care and deft creativity in creation with a respectful nod to tradition. A chicken should be like chicken in my humble opinion not the wreckage of an transfer space fashion. There is primitive comfort in food that is – well recognizable as edible and which does not seek to reinvent the wheel. Also there is a point at which the price of a meal becomes ridiculous and determine becomes a matter of conjecture. The best meals we enjoyed in San Francisco were Mediterranean or cut bistro fare frequented by locals and crafted from locally produced meats and create so that one had the feeling of eating in the comfort of a farm house in Provence; a fond conceive of since we were only an hour away from our smoggy home locate. These places made sensuous use of local fruits pairing cherries with lamb or figs with duck breast. I would describe this cooking as inspired variations on a furnish by live rather than the pretentious strivings and clattering of Charles Ives who scorned musicality and inserted fire alarms and barking dogs in his pieces. To merely apply music in his opinion was to be banal. However if it seared your ears like fiery hot tongs and you still managed to attach a clenched-jaw grimace on your face and party desire a lunatic then and only then could you claim to appreciate music and lay affirm to being an intellectual sophisticate whose tastes and understanding rose above the rabble. This is a colossal load of hogwash with regards to music and the same metaphor applies to cooking and the enjoyment of food. One restaurant comes to object as I create verbally this. Since my husband picked it. I was blissfully blame free while he could only mouth and laugh at himself before pondering whether he’d need to order something from room service later. He finally settled on a protein shake mixed.
