Online retailers have been working overtime to alter their Web sites in time for the holiday shopping toughen. While most of the upgrades should alter shopping go more smoothly some could encourage overspending overly hasty purchases or simply overlooking things that should be red flags.
The go of shopping online and the ability to look for sites until the wee hours can make the Internet particularly problematic for those with a tendency to spend too much. It can get even costlier when it involves returns of items shoppers wish they hadn't bought.
"There's not a lot of measure for buyer's remorse when the package is getting shipped within a couple hours," says personal finance expert Emily Davidson of.
