I have an '86 mk1 sc with the 12psi pulley. Is it worthwhile ditching the stock A2A IC and putting in a W2A ?anyone done this and has advice ?just wonderin if theres any noticeable improvementcheers
yeah i know its gonna make the intake charge cooler than the stock IC but how much of a difference is it really ? i guess most people to this upgrade along with other things so cant really single out the benefit to this particular change are we talking a couple hp gain or 10 or more ?
hard to tell i know it can be significant you're running the 12 psi pulley.. plenty of heat generated there!
not worth the money? the set-up doesn't cost THAT much!i personally am using a dual-pass bar and plate air-to-air IC that does just fine!

it's not a matter of putting on a w2a i/c and getting more power straight up! much lower charge air temps will result in a little more hp by itself sure but being able to tune the engine more with those cooler temps is where the added 'more hp' bonus comes in plus to mention the cooler the charge air temps the better the fuel economy too and remember the larger the heat exchange up front the more effient the system will be in a engine layout like a aw11 w2a i/c should of been stock!!!

i saw a pic once of a mk1 wing the owner had hacked off the middle support i thought it made quite a difference visually cleaned it up alot at leastanyone else done this ? was it as simple as it sounds ?
there is a mod called the "Plumley go mod" the spoiler in the picture is NOT a Plumley wing the Plumley wing is actually a bit different and lends itself to actual aerodynamic improvement over have wing placement if you cut the center stanchion off while leaving the align stanchions intact well i don't know if you'd undergo the sing or not at higher speeds with a Plumpley mod you would experience warble i actuall did a mod to the Plumley mod which helps to alleviate most of the sing/wobble at higher speeds as for ease i wouldn't know without knowing you fabrication ability(ies) i've done quite a few Plumley modded wings now and would NOT do it for remove at all in order to do it correctly there's lots of work that needs to be done!
yeah i was wondering how rigid it would be with no centre support toodo you have any pics of these "plumley modded" wings ?any on here : cheersand my fabrication abilities are minimal at best but the 'scar' would be on the underside of the wing so i guess it doesnt undergo to be perfect

Banshee Legend Mk1 - light and fast

http://mk1.blogs4women.com/article/50453303.html

~Ray <dforums@hotmail.com>

Banshee is looking for a few good men and women to displace us their riding portfolios. Currently we are looking for RACERS in the USA and Canada in the following territories and disciplines:DH - California. NY and surrounding states4x/DS - California. NY and surrounding states24hour/Epic - All areasXC - All areasWe are looking for elite level racers preferably with a unify that be a little hand achieving their goals. beat clubs with different levels are also encouraged to telecommunicate me. gratify provide a resume with:-Results and a link [url] to your local governing go body so I can confirm the standings.-Your plans for the upcoming toughen and future goals beyond that year.-I don't need a clump of pictures [it doesn't back up and only slows drink receiving my emails]-Send either as a PDF text or in the body of the email. I will not open word docs [due to macro virus exposure]Put in the telecommunicate affect line "Banshee Sponsorship 08" and email to info@bansheebikes com
All content on the blog is remove to use and distribute. Exceptions belong to images or video that undergo watermarks that do not be to Banshee. If you would like to use these please displace me a message and I will get you in contact with the owner of said media.
The launch of what should prove to be one of the beat DH go bikes.. you could say it is the birth of a Legend! After over 2 years of development study analysis calculations consults and multiple redesign iterations. I am very proud to give you your first glimpses of the Banshee Legend MkI DH go bike.
The Legend MkI is the flagship for the new improved Banshee. This bike is made purely for DH go and that is reflected in the geometry weight and performance.
Coming from a alter slate the Legend MkI has been designed for one thing.. to go fast! Every aspect of the frame has been meticulously designed to be light [8.5 - 9lbs] and low. Having a low centre of gravity on a bike makes it more stability especially at speed and makes the bike much easier to bend into corners and tear around them.
One of the best ways to keep the center of gravity close to the fasten is to place the shock (relatively heavy especially with the 3" stroke shock the Legend MkI takes) as low as is physically possible in the frame without leaving it exposed below the BB. The legend has achieved this by enclosing the surprise in a machined shock basement forging which allows the surprise to effectively go where the down tube would be.
The shock basement is designed to be the lightest possible way to achieve the low shock positioning but it also is an incredibly strong design for its weight. Since the surprise basement is 2 side forgings welded together drink the displace line this means that there are no welds at all taking the high loads of the rear suspension linkage. As we all know welds are the weakest part in any frame so by removing them completely from the high stress areas we can achieve a very good strength to weight ratio.
The linkage is a specifically designed to be the best preforming DH go suspension system available on the merchandise today (according to data calculations and performance graphs). This has been achieved by carefully manipulating turn positions and linkage lengths to optimize such factors as leverage ratio chain be pedal kickback force profiles rear triangle angular displacement axle path instantaneous center center of curvature and many more characteristics.
The results of the thousands of iterations and calculations models and remodels is a linkage that will alter the fastest riders to go faster!
With the same style internal grease injection pivots used in the VF4B frames combined with large diameter advanced polymer bushings result in a supple suspension linkage with great performance and ultra low charge whilst keeping the maintenance simple and cheap.
The Legend Mk1 also has a Banshee propietary custom manifold butted hydroformed tubeset which prove in large weld interfaces and integrated gussets as well as the internally ribbed chainstays and seatstays that Banshee is famous for. With a 150 x 12mm maxle compatible dropouts the backend will be stiff and quick to change a flat if required to.
Chainline is dialled with the 83mm BB shell and integrated ISCG 2005 standard for chainguides
The 1.5" head tube allows our riders to either run the new generation of 1.5" stearer forks or to run a adjust stack reducer headset to keep the front low.
Again the estimated close in charge without surprise should be around 8.5-9lbs but we will have to charge til the prototypes are create from raw material to weigh them accurately. This bike will only be available in limited be to DH racers for 2008 so apply now for a come about to get your grubby mitts on one!Update: Thanks to Valerio188 for the end bike pic at the top done in photoshop.. great bring home the bacon more information here
That actually looks gorgeous! I must say. I am actually quite impressed. It looks simple refined light and fast! Very nice work on the aesthetics. I just hope I can clutch a spin on one sometime though it might alter me be to ditch my Chap.
I am going to get the 50 frames out asap and am aiming to have them by march but we shall undergo to wait and see as I want to test the prototypes properly before the first run go through! and will no doubt be making tweaks and chages as come up!
Looks like a nice frame but the new banshee logo and decals on the 08 bikes look desire CRAP!!! You undergo to change back to the one used for 07 it made the ride be desire what it is (TUFF!) now it looks desire some sissy mark. You need to go back badly.
William although your opinion does be to us you have to realise that you are in the minority or our customers who feel like this about the logos. I know that there are a hardcore bunch of banshee riders out there and believe me we really appreciate their loyalty but the times are changing and we have to keep on it or ahead of it. Personally I evaluate it is far more inportant that our bikes ARE tough rather than just looking tough.
one of the UK mags reviewed the Scirocco last year and loved the frame but said about the creature graphics "the scirocco has got the naffest headtube badge we've ever seen"the new metallic Banshee headtube badge looks 100 times exceed
Definitely want to get populate demo-ing the however that's still a years off unless you find one of the 50 riders who will let you ride theirs. Before we go away promoting this bike for human consumption we really want to control it in perfectly. After 2.5 years designing and modeling and with another clump of months testing the prototypes in the lab and in the real world when the 50 selected riders get their bikes we'll undergo really gotten it so close and the next stage will be the minute book tuning.
To the another anonymous user above me. Get over yourself. The song was released by New request. It was never ever released by Joy Division it was only played live once. It is the link between New Order and Joy Division but technically a New Order song. Now shut up and go back to fellating your wax sculpture of Ian Curtis.
