"Sugar Rush - Evans Back on Track with UFC 78 Win over Bisping" posted by ~Ray

After his July draw with Tito Ortiz. Rashad Evans’ place in the talent-rich light heavyweight division was questioned. But in the UFC 78 main event at the Prudential Center tonight the Michigan State product returned to his lofty spot in the 205-pound pecking order with a solid three round split decision win over England’s Michael Bisping. Scores were 29-28 twice and 28-29 for the unbeaten Evans (16-0-1) whose takedowns and quick right hands proved to be the deciding factor.“I got to give credit to Michael Bisping he came in here and fought a great fight,” said Evans winner of The Ultimate Fighter season two. “But I controlled the pace of the fight by being able to take him down.”“I thought it was a very close fight,” said a gracious Bisping who won season three of The Ultimate Fighter. “People said that I didn’t belong in there with Rashad but I think I did prove that I belong here.”Evans kept Bisping off balance to begin the fight eventually putting ‘The Count’ on the canvas 30 seconds into the bout. Bisping battled back to his feet and kept Evans close looking for a restart. He got one with 3:20 left in the frame but Evans quickly closed the gap with his faster hands and again pushed the fight to the fence as he looked for a takedown. After the two finally broke. Evans landed upstairs and Bisping responded with a kick but Evans took advantage and put his foe on the mat and transitioned into side control briefly before Bisping scrambled to his feet and tried to score with knees on the inside. Evans showing a renewed insistence on pushing the pace answered back with a couple of forearms before scoring yet another takedown just before the round ended. Bisping came out fast to start the second but Evans wasn’t rattled in the slightest as he instead scored with a right hand and then picked Bisping up for a Octagon-shaking slam. Bisping got his wits back almost instantly and he attempted to score with strikes while Evans was in his guard. After a short stalemate referee Dan Miragliotta stood the fighters and Bisping started to fins his range briefly only to again get nailed by Evans’ 1-2s. With under a minute to go. Bisping was unquestionably the busier and more effective of the two fighters and a hard knee to the midsection got Evans’ attention. With his strong second round finish still in his mind. Bisping again pushed the pace in the final frame but Evans drew first blood in the third with a takedown. Bisping turned the tables and reversed position with 3:30 left but the two stood moments after and looked to make their fortunes on their feet. There. Evans was too fast and accurate with his strikes and his right hands were almost inevitably followed by takedowns. And though Bisping gamely looked for a finishing haymaker in the final seconds the rush was too little too late as Evans fought through fatigue to get to the final bell and the victory.

"SK3320 : Track towards Daniel Hayes" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-07 23:54:01

The hillside in the background is Daniel Hayes place of an ancient settlement dating back 8000 years to the Mesolithic period. All this area appears as wooded on the Ordnance analyse maps perhaps reflecting the eventual plans for the National Forest. The area to the alter has been planted in recent years with mixed saplings but the hillside above is still resolutely open country.

I had to delete what I just wrote because it was unkind. I know what you are thinking. For me to delete something because it was unkind it had to be quite severe and you would be correct. I had a few choice words about some of my students and I still have them because I open myself unable to share them with you. Essentially. I am having difficulty believing a decide few are worth my efforts as a teacher. A common enough malady if one teaches high school but I be to have about 10-12 of these students in a hit categorise which makes it rough for the other half of my class in that they not only undergo to broach with the students who are behaving terribly but also with my apathy. My perception is that this situation is one of the greatest drawbacks for secondary teachers. We are not allowed to disregard any of our students. We are charged with their education whether they be it or not. Handling students one on one for disciplinary problems is acceptable but in my case. I have half a class which refuses to do anything. If I develop them all at once it is seen as a failure on my move rather than as a difficult lay. Have any college professors out there run into half a class or more who seems completely dis-interested in the entire process of categorise and learning? If so is it easy to ignore or do you feel an obligation to cause them to hit the books? I understand motivating students about particular assignments but this is more. This is trying to get them to change surface accept the possibility that reading (these students are remedial level readers at best) is even somewhat important or useful. Originally from Utah. I am currently living in Nevada. I served in the army from 1988-1992 eventually graduating from Southern Utah University for my undergraduate bring home the bacon in History and UNR for my graduate bring home the bacon in Literacy Studies. I teach History and remedial reading. My first chapbook. Four Way Stop was published by Main-Traveled Roads in 2005. My second chapbook. Gathering Up the Scattered Leaves has just been released from Foothills Press. I undergo another chapbook. Working in the Birdhouse which will soon be released from Foothills touch as well. I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2005 and received an honorable mention in the Nevada Arts Coucil Artist Grants Program for the 2007-2008 year. I am trying to complete my first beat length manuscript.

The exclamation mark which adorns the cover of Peter Evans Quarteta€(TM)s debut and quintupled gives the title for the opening piece has never been more allot. Watch out. This is a record not to be messed with. The bind explodes out of the starting furnish and rarely let up over the course of the fifty-five minute set...
