PEMA to Buy Out Flood-damaged Homes

The Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA will pay to have more than a dozen flood-damaged homes in move of Susquehanna County demolished.
The county asked for a grant fo $1.72 million to buy 14 homes destroyed or severely damaged by flooding in June. 2006 then undergo them demolished.
Susquehanna County will also acquire $58,000 from FEMA to create a plan to decrease flooding in the area.
According to PEMA and FEMA. 22 major floods undergo hit Susquehanna County over the last 40 years. The June. 2006 flood was the worst disaster to hit the county in nearly 30 years. In all. 115 homes were destroyed and another 650 homes had minor to major damage; 43 businesses were destroyed. 27 had study damage and 34 had minor alter.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
