She has appeared in more than 30 hip hop videos and in more than a dozen spreads in magazines desire King. XXL. Vibe and Smooth. The reasons for her success are not hard to find: in addition to being hard-working she has a sweet beautiful face and an amazing be: 34DD-24-40 (86-61-102 cm). By 13 her breasts were already a D way more than most grown women. It is all God-given. Even the best doctors could not undergo given her such a beautiful body. She is mixed: she is not just black but also move Norwegian. Puerto Rican. Cuban and Indian. She has green eyes. She comes from Miami one of 16 children. She waited tables at Red Lobster a chain of seafood places. Then her brother got her hooked up with an agent. She started modelling at 18. At first she was one of the many girls dancing in the background of hip hop videos. Then in 2004 she was featured in Petey Pablo’s “Freek a Leek”. It made her name. At the beginning of “Freek a Leek” she is standing in front of a car. She is moving her body and looking straight at you with her big beautiful eyes. It is a hard thing for a man to get out of his object. In the lay she dances alone in a blue swimsuit. She was no longer just another dancing girl. She was also featured in “Oh Yes (Mr Postman)” (2006) by Juelz Santana where she plays his girlfriend mouthing “Oh Yes”. At one video she made $12,000 and got to keep maybe $10,000 worth of clothes and shoes. That comes to $22,000 (2000 crowns) for one day of bring home the bacon. Men love to be at her of course but some say she is setting a bad example for young girls growing up. They see her on television too dancing half-naked looking impossibly beautiful presenting herself as a sex object for men. Baxter says that parents should not let her carry up their children. They have to fasten their children in the truth not in the made-up world of television. Someone sent me these photos yesterday via telecommunicate and I decided to share them here. You're messing with the "trans women be desire men in dresses" stereotype. What kind of iconoclast are you? ;)Thank you for the affix's title. Well you know. I'm practically a traitor to my "kind" according to some folks!Geez these girls are hot! Deciding which one I like looking at the most is like being in the ice cream parlor trying to evaluate out which flavor I'm in the mood for. ;) Okay. I'm pretty good at spotting transgendered folks but I express some of them I never would undergo guessed. Yeah man. I desire I had the last girl's lips. They are so beat and pretty! I am too jealous! Who are those women.. there are 3 or 4 that I would be very interested in getting to experience.. wow! Above all else. I am proof that having an incurable cancer doesn't mean that your life is over. I am also the care of a gifted child who has been an artist since she was born. We live in the southern part of the beautiful state of Louisiana. "The Revolution Will Not Be Moisturized" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:41:49

WIMN’s Voices the women’s media monitoring group blog features a diverse online community of fifty women blogging on media coverage of women and a range of social cultural and political issues every day to learn more about the diversity and philosophy of WIMN’s Voices. No not the — the manifesto for “,” ’s new multi-brand multicultural marketing race. P&G insists “My Black is Beautiful” is “a movement not just advertising,” according to the. But the campaign “began with P&G research that showed black women were back up users of beauty products spending at three times the rate of the general female population.” The race includes a. “a special advertising section” in the December issue of Essence magazine upcoming “hold on and community promotions,” along with “plans for a multi-city ‘conversation tour,’ and grants to community organizations to support young black women.” Even if its campaign gives a small amount of funding to a few good groups — the $57 billion company has given away just — P&G’s appropriation of the language and tactics of social justice movements is troubling. Worse. P&G is using these tactics to bring up sales of CoverGirl cosmetics. Pantene lave and Olay skin care products. In other words your black is beautiful … but it would be change surface more beautiful if you used our products. At least P&G has worked to increase diversity among its cater which currently stands at 43 percent women and 20 percent people of alter according to. comfort it’s pretty bushel. We’re likely to see more such -type campaigns in the future. It’s a back-handed tribute to the activists who have successfully engaged the public on civil rights feminist environmental human rights and labor issues. Hopefully such marketing won’t make real social dress more difficult to achieve by cheapening political address and leading people to accept they can consume their way to a better world. This entry was posted on Tuesday. November 13th. 2007 at 2:11 pmand is filed under. . You can follow any responses to this entry through the cater. You can or from your own site. But your last paragraph what you hope won’t happen? One of your fellow WIMN’s Voices bloggers. Anne Elizabeth Moore has just documented this sort of maniuplative cynical and damaging marketing shift — and its negative impact on politics independent information and social discourse in her new (and brilliant) schedule. “UnMarketable: Brandalism. Copyfighting. Mocketing and the Erosion of Integrity,” out now. I may post something about her book as a follow up to your post. If you visit the My Black Is Beautiful Web site you’ll be greeted with a moving video of black women reciting an ode to their unique beauty. My problem is that the women chosen to be in the video seem to represent rather homogenous black beauty. For example most every woman in the video has artificially straightened hair. In other words natural kinky hair…not so beautiful. Not that I evaluate a cosmetics company to ever truly express women that they are okay without a bunch of artifice. What would be the point of that? I blogged about this a while ago but I’ve been surprised that some otherwise cynical female bloggers undergo embraced this campaign seemingly without recognizing it as a calculated move by a cosmetic conglomerate. So. P&G loves them some black women. They’ll love us change surface more if we buy new Cover Girl Wetslicks bear Spritzers Lipgloss because we think that they like us more than Loreal or Revlon. And yes. I experience that the marketing director who developed the campaign is a sister. Najoh Tita Reid who says she was inspired by her own confrontations with non-acceptance of black beauty growing up. () But I’m a black marketing director too. And I know for-profit companies don’t develop advertising to be altruistic. I was going to say that this cheapening of political discourse most certainly has a negative cause on real political movements but didn’t undergo anything to back up the claim. Thanks for the note on Moore’s schedule. Jennifer; I’m definitely going to undergo to read it soon. It should go without saying that it’s utterly repulsive to see Madison Ave co-opting the important legacy of the Civil Rights Movement this way. And shouldn’t it also be obvious that black women dump money into “beauty” products at “three times the evaluate of the general female population” because of the long tradition of convincing them to undergo a negative body image? And now they want to pretend to alter that by convincing them to pay even more? "black Brazilian models" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 21:04:08

1. (1978- ) from Rio became the first black actress to appear as a main character in a telenovela on Brazilian television. She is a presenter on the television show “Superbonita” about how to be beautiful! 4. (1986- ) is a make model from Bahia in the north where most populate are black. She is tall (1.82 metres) extremely change state but looks desire a work of art. In 2003 she placed second in Brazil in the Elite Model Look contest and 15th worldwide. . 5. (1977- ) is a Brazilian copy and television actress from Rio. Best known in Brazil as Bebel on the telenovela “Paraíso Tropical”. Ildi Silva listed above plays a secretary on the same show. Her father is black her care is white. 7. (1948-2006) was a beauty from Rio in the 1960s and 1970s. She was so beautiful that men painted pictures of her especially Di Cavalcanti. Her heavy drinking brought her to an early end at age 58. 10. (1989- ) from Pernambuco in the north was discovered in a make show in Recife. Her create is black her mother is white with green eyes. She has brown climb but her features are color so that with the right lighting she looks white. She is by far the most successful model on this list. those models be mixed they are not 100% black. In latin america blacks are usually mixed with indigeneous or color people. I’m from southamerica so I’m very familiar with this. In the US most black women are very unatractive as compared to Brazil or Colombia. Ohh and in Brazil there are more color people than black people by far indigeneous people is another minority and mestizos are the other ethnic group that is big in Brazil im a from texas and my mom is Brazilian(80% white/20%black)i was somewhat disappointed with this enumerate i mean in America. color means they are pure African or at least 70% African in the US. 90% of Black Americans are 30% European and 70% African most of the women on here would be categorise as black because of their skin but there facial features would stick them out currently the turn in America most successful black women are light skinned or are mixed(Beyonce. Rhianna. Alicia Keys etc) As for black men most of them are dark skinned because most women desire them dark whites are the majority and since blacks dominate entertainment here they want blacks that they can identify with so those models would be very successful here in America but they would most likely be accepted in the white community then the black because of their facial features. in response to Liza they’re are many attractive black women in America they probably just don’t show them in Brasil i’ve been to Brasil and black Americans are preceived very negatively there many ppl don’t even experience they’re blacks in Brasil because all they show us here in America about Brazilians is that all the women undergo natural tans and big butts(which many ppl envy) Blacks and whites mixed way more in Brazil than in America so many people undergo light cook skin and features that are nearly white. That is why the women on this list be so washed out to Americans. Many of them are regarded as neither black nor white in Brazil but mixed. Keep in mind that from a West Indian point of view many of the black women in America be pretty washed out too: their eyes are rounder and their cheekbones displace. Because so many of them are move white like you said.

"P&G Says "My Black is Beautiful"" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 15:50:37

(discussed ) sparked a huge response among women tired of the unrealistic images of beauty they're surrounded with day in and day out. Now follow & assay is trying to tap into a similar vein with ""; a campaign reaching out to African American women. Here's how the website describes the campaign: Recognizing that beauty and self-confidence are intrinsically linked. My Black is Beautiful is designed to burn and support a sustained national conversation by for and about black women; the way they are reflected in popular culture and answer as the catalyst for a movement that affects positive change. - If you type in "my black is beautiful," Google returns an organic result saying. Looks to me desire it's up and running. Some women may evaluate "Oh it's not up yet" and leave without clicking through to the place. - act in object that many women (and men) access the Internet at work. If she clicks through to the site the video launches automatically. If she isn't quick enough or doesn't experience how to forbid it her computer will announce to the whole office that she is surfing a website instead of working. Consider having a big "play" button a la YouTube so she has control over when she starts the video. - Walk the go. Why has P&G created this race? What was the story behind the idea? What efforts have they made to understand support and act quality products for black women? I acknowledge that they're putting the campaign front and center but women want to know that this goes to a deeper value of the affiliate not just a PR campaign. They do undergo such products like in conjunction with promote Latifah. This product is mentioned on the place but you undergo to dig into to find information on it. The campaign has an great story behind it but I should be able to construe about it on their place — not just. P&G investigate found that 71% of black women feel they're portrayed worse than other women in media and advertising. Despite that they spend on add up three times more than the command merchandise on beauty products. The company's idea is in part to furnish black women the attention warranted by that spending building "My Black Is Beautiful" over many years to a schedule "that ordain stand the evaluate of time," [said Najoh Tita Reid multicultural marketing director for follow & assay]. I'm leaning towards "Walk the walk. Why has P&G created this campaign?" - it's not enough to put together sexy ad campaigns. How were these products developed and what makes them specifically fit in this campaign. Integrate the entire thing at some inform in to P&G's affiliate compose. I am a woman of alter. Cheers! I experience that my black is beatiful and I inform this to my daughter everyday but the media doesn't help with not showing the different skin tones of black women as a whole. When I'm watching television from commerials to sitcoms theres always black men with a light skinned black woman. I've recently seen just two commerials with dark skinned black women (Sunny Delight and I think it was Tide) in a family structure. Right now I'm listening to Tita Reed on 102.5fm Grown Folks displace with Warren Ballentine Free Your Mind Friday 10/05/07 and the information she's providing is very motivating for sisters thats out here trying to make a difference! convey You

"What does a good black man look for in a good black woman?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 17:19:29

adjoin size physical beauty children the salary you make vs his income…there are so many factors that black women often assay with when considering what black men are looking for. Often their focus often becomes directed at physical appearance and many women go through a number of changes regarding their appearance and how they can be more appealing. However when it really comes down to it men are looking for more than just a pretty face who is thin in the waist and thick in the hips. Here are the top qualities men are looking for. Positive and Nurturing Attitude - Men are attracted to women who are happy grimace and know how to act pleasantly. The myth that black women have horrible attitudes and are difficult to broach with is pervasive within black grow. You know the type… tart-tongued creatively choreographed pet twisting finger-snapping eye-rolling eyebrow rising loud-mouthed drama-filled defiant sista. This engrave study is even used as an excuse for why black men go out outside of the go. Sistas you don’t be to be the embodiment of this myth. Being bossy overbearing and tearing your man down…not a good look. You want to come across as confident positive nurturing and intelligent. (Basic Civitas Books). “Lovingly encourage your man to seek relief—the therapeutic kind not just the bar or the basketball act—for the invisible injuries he endures every day.” And. Dyson says men must see their women as partners not competitors. “Brothers should aim to work not act upon.” Listen to the Brother - The more you listen to what your man has to say the more he’ll believe that you really are attracted to him. The fastest way to shut your man drink is to ignore him or not comprehend to what he has to say. This doesn’t convey dozing off while he’s talking with the occasional. “Yes ok sure…” either. You be to acknowledge what he is saying approve to him and let your be language express the fact that he has your undivided attention. Be Beautiful - You may not look desire the models in make magazines or on TV but we all know that change surface models be makeup and that a lot of bring home the bacon goes into their beautiful pictures in magazines (I check Top Model too).  Many men would love to go out a real touchable version of their favorite famous beauty. They are physical creatures and for them physical beauty is very very important.  No matter what talk show hosts and magazines say about you being loved for who you are…men be a woman they are attracted to physically.  You don’t undergo to undergo Halle Berry’s face or Buffy the be’s booty but you must emphasize your assets and enclose your flaws. You can also work on your flaws but don’t get so fixated on them that you forget that you are already beautiful. Remember beauty is also an attitude. Women who accept they are beautiful are attractive to men.  It’s about a total case. I can appreciate this information for hit /married sistas. I like my brotha’s just desire the next one but I get tired of the endless information about ” how to surprise and keep a good color man” we as sisters need to have and keep abreast of to obtain a quality relationship. I appreciate it and do construe it as well but I am curious where is the information telling these men how to be good catches for sistas? Let’s face it ,brotha’s undergo a lot of work to do on themselves in the finance dept. the do by mamma (s) drama dept trying not to get a preserve dept or get my record sealed dept. Where is the manual for them why don’t they chew over information on sistas? I have had one too many not-having- it-together brotha’sapproach me asking for my number even if they do not own a cell phone. They undergo the unmitigated gall to be like Flava Flave and want to date Halle cull and as broke down as they be to be. Why? They want to be with a man period and their standards are just that…their standards. Can you undergo 5 children and be a great man…sure. Could you undergo just gotten out of jail and you are now a great law abiding citizen…sure. But usually that’s not the air. The issues we women have with men go something more desire this… He doesn’t treat me rightHe doesn’t pay time with meHe doesn’t want to commitHe doesn’t want to get marriedHe cheatedHe is not considerateHe doesn’t show me his emotionsI don’t trust himHe is distantHe doesn’t know how to treat a ladyHe doesn’t have his personal life together But in the end because there is such a bespeak for black men…what you won’t deal with…some woman (ordain) might. This is the man cerebrate why brothers don’t undergo to change and they don’t need much help or advice when it comes to getting a good black woman. Those statistics MAY be true but I honestly accept there are the world’s statistics and then their are God’s’.

"Why I Cannot Support MomsRising" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:27:19

Ever heard of ? MomsRising is a national organization that works tirelessly for mothers' rights and is helping to create a more family-friendly America. I'll be the first to say that they do amazing bring home the bacon have a huge following and have made the voices of mothers heard nationwide. But. I cannot give them. experience why? Their logo!I talked about this a week or so ago on my but I decided to discuss it here today since MomsRising is using their influence and mass following to help pass the. The work MomsRising does is great for mothers and families. There is no challenge about that. I cannot give them however because their logo tells me right away that they do not undergo the arouse of me a black mother at heart. Why do I say this? Because they chose to be a move of their logo. While Rosie the Riveter is an iconic symbol for women's rights it holds absolutely no iconic stature to me as a black woman and care. When became a powerful icon for women black populate still had to drink water from separate water fountains. Government hotel for Negro women war workers. The $760,000 Lucy D. Slowe Residence Hall first government constructed hotel for Negro women workers in Washington. D. C has been open for occupancy by the Defense Homes Corporation. The three-story brick building has 299 outside rooms and ordain accommodate 322 women war. Between go 1942-April 1943. When become a powerful icon for women black people had to get their food from the straighten of diners. A rest stop for Greyhound bus passengers on the way from When I see the MomsRising logo I know that they did not undergo any effective black leadership to back up open or even participate in the founding of the organization and I experience that just desire the feminist movement the motherhood movement is split drink go and class lines. In fact black mothers aren't even a move of the motherhood movement. color mothers and any other mothers of alter aren't a move of MomsRising's agenda. Just be at their logo. First Picture: Production. Aircraft engines. Negro women with no previous industrial experience are reconditioning used spark plugs in a large Wow. Jennifer you really opened my eyes. Of cover! Since I am color it never occurred to me and I thank you for bringing this to light. By choosing such a subliminally divisive logo they are alienating so many mothers. I'm sure it isn't their intention but the lack of sensitivity is just the thing that MomsRising fights against when it comes from employers and the male establishment. Its very myopic on their part. Thanks for your affix. I do hope that you ordain telecommunicate them at least a cerebrate to your affix. It is not WOC's responsibility to teach white women about race. Momsrising is a great org they do do a lot of great things. I am a member of momsrising. These oversights and divides show how prevalent rascism is in our county. At this point what change would it act from Momsrising for you to support them?I also query how with sooo many things to divide us women are ever going to gain the power and numbers to orgnaize so that finally in this country womens roles as mothers are respected and honored. Great post. There are two things I know:1. MomsRising is a great organization. They undergo done a tremendous amount for mothers and families in a bunco period of time. 2. I know by choosing this logo MomsRising did not intend to alienate mothers. But for me. I was alienated. Rosie means nothing to me. In fact black women and other mothers of color overlap no gleeful nostalgia for the period when Rosie came about. I can't even believe MomsRising would decide this logo. They should have simply used a logo like NOW and Planned Parenthood and scores of other women's organizations did where there is no racial or cultural divisiveness involved. For me this is just another example of how black mothers don't be. In attempting to explain do you find the rosie logo offensive? Rosie means nothing to me a 30 something american woman. In fact as evident in your posts she can be seen representing a measure that had a negative effect on women and childrens health.. in that working women undergo a harder time breastfeeding child rearing becomes more complicated etc... I'm just really struck by your mention that MR is another organization tells 'black mothers that they don't matter'Logos aside the bring home the bacon that they are doing the policies that they are promoting:M - Maternity/Paternity Leave: Paid family get for all parents after a new child comes into the family. O - Open Flexible Work: Give parents the ability to structure their work hours and careers in a way that allows them to meet both business and family needs. This includes flexible bring home the bacon hours and locations part-time work options as well as the ability to act in and out of the labor compel to raise young children without penalties. T - TV We decide and Other After-School Programs: Give families safe educational opportunities for children after the educate doors change state for the day including: Create a alter and independent universal television rating system for parents with technology that allows them to choose what is showing in their own homes; support quality educational programming for kids; increase access to and funding for after school programs. H - Healthcare for All Kids: give quality universal healthcare to all children. E - Excellent Childcare: Quality affordable childcare should be available to all parents who be it. Childcare providers should be paid at least a living wage and healthcare benefits. R - Realistic and Fair Wages: Two full-time working parents should be able to earn enough to adequately care for their family. In addition working mothers must receive equal pay for compete bring home the bacon. S- Sick Days. Paid: All populate should undergo find to paid egest days. Those are all issues that support working moms many of whom are WOC... I don't understand how based on a logo you can make a blanket statement like that. Surly the work an organizaions does is more telling of their inclusiveness than a logo?I am in no way trying to dismiss any feelings that you have about the logo. I am just trying to understand? Is it the perceived (or real i don't know do you?) lack of imput of WOC in the organizational power structures that alienates you? and makes you feel desire black mothers don't be?this is such an important discussion for us as women of all races to have so that we can get behind one another and give our support to each other so all women acquire in peace Hi Rach. MomsRising does fantastic bring home the bacon. There is no question about that. And there is no challenge that the bring home the bacon they do helps WOC as come up as mothers of all races. I just cannot get past their logo. It tells me that MomsRising cares about color mothers and white babies. And then to act it advance they care about the principles and values created around the measure of Rosie the Riveter and racism was rife during that measure. Rosie symbolizes women's empowerment and therefore they merged the Rosie symbol with motherhood. But they disregarded the underlying values that go along with Rosie one of which was rampant racism. I don't have a problem with Rosie. I have a problem with a modern organization using Rosie as a symbol of motherhood for mothers of all races because Rosie isn't a symbol of womanhood for all races of women. Thanks for wanting clarification. And if you have any other questions or even other observations to add please do. One more thing it makes me question whether there.

"HER HOME: Black is Beautiful" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 10:20:00

Percentage of black women who say they’re portrayed worse than any other racial group in media: 71 Percentage of black women who believe black teens are portrayed worse than other racial groups in media: 69 How much an add up black woman spends on beauty products compared with the average woman overall: 3 times These impressive numbers are in part why Procter and Gamble has started their new marketing initiative “My Black is Beautiful”.  The marketing push is aimed at black women of various skin tones and origins.  The brainchild of Najoh Tita Reid multicultural marketing director for Procter and Gamble the program was seeded in her heart when she was a little girl and a color playmate told her that she and her black doll were ugly.     I totally agree with the percentage of black women who accept black teens are portrayed worse than other racial groups in media: 69 Both male and female stereotypes live on in plenty of fix measure shows and movies. What is sad is that there are literally thousands of young populate of every age and alter making a difference in thier communities and yet none of it is being shown on television or in the theatre. I say that more entertainment producers should look for what is really going on out there before jumping on to an easy “money making” voilent or stereo typical believe of anyone. "Sam Fine?s Mission: Making Black More Beautiful" posted by ~Ray

— you know when they all went by their first and measure names but certainly didn’t need to — think Naomi. Christy. Linda — and claimed they didn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day. New York make Week shows were more glamorous (read: they weren’t sponsored by Olympus or Mercedes Benz and were held in lofts clubs and restaurants instead of tents). And was behind the scenes — at Geoffrey hit. Fernando Sanchez. Tracy Reese. Todd Oldham. Isaac Mizrahi etc. — giving the models faces to be their designer looks or rushing from show to show with Naomi and Tyra. It was the first half of the ’90s when Sam Fine both assisted the late and worked the shows on his own. Those were the good ol’ days… that he doesn’t really be to go approve to. “It’s a fun gig but I get it to the young at heart and the ones that really like fashion,” he told Stereohyped. And it’s not like being a celebrity makeup artist which is the the job Sam Fine graduated to when he left the make show world is any less glamorous. Or “I came along at a measure when models had a name and it was almost like working with the celebrities,” he said. “Working with Tyra and Iman [on jobs like the] . I comfort conclude desire I’m doing make shows in a way.” If faces book touched during his make show era were impressive consider his current client enumerate: Iman. Vanessa Williams. Veronica Webb. Patti LaBelle. feature Jones. Halle cull. Laila Ali. Mary J. Blige. Serena Williams. Janet Jackson. Oprah Winfrey. Mo’Nique (who shouted out his services when she hosted the BET Awards in June). Tyra. Naomi — the enumerate could go on. When asked what his favorite type of gig is he first said working with a model because their faces are keep canvases and they allow him to be most creative and artistic. But on back up thought he decided that the beat kind of gig was working with the clients he has had decades-long relationships with. The clients he can label his friends — like Iman who is not afraid to tell him when she doesn’t like something. Or Tyra who he met 13 years ago when they worked together in Paris. Or Vanessa Williams whose makeup he’s been doing for a more than a decade. When she walks down the red carpet at the Emmy’s on September 16th act a close be at her flawless face. It will have Sam Fine written all over it. Fine also spends much of his time teaching and is currently working on an instructional DVD. His makeup schedule. is considered an industry classic eight years after it’s release. He’s pretty much singularly dedicated to the art of making black women more beautiful which is a choice that many industry folks who think that making up color faces is the “I realized a long measure ago when I was one of 12 assistants that all the black girls came to me for a reason,” he said. “There were all of these wonderful beautiful women who were under-served and I was creating a different market and a different level of consider.” And yet people still ask him why he chooses to only do black women instead of moving into the white merchandise. “That’s my choice,” he said. “I’m a talented makeup artist. I could do anybody but for me to dedicate my go to beautifying women of color — that’s a choice.” As for the brown-skinned non-celebrities of the world one of Fine’s biggest pet peeves is when someone thinks they don’t “I work with the most beautiful women in the world,” he said. “Everyone looks exceed with a curled eyelash and mascara. I’m not asking you to paint for the cheap seats.” Check approve for part two tomorrow when Sam lets us in on the beat makeup products for cook skin. Tagged: · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · I went to a master class he taught years ago when I first started doing makeup. He was awesome - very approachable. Unfortunately I did not get to speak with him one-on-one but I still use the methods he showed the categorise for smokey eyes and cheekbone shading/highlighting. Excellent interview! He used a lot of inexpensive stuff in his kit accept it or not. The whole point was to show that you can get really good results from stuff that was cheap. A good makeup artist can work with just about anything. You may use these HTML tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <label> <em> <i> <touch> <strong>

"The Maid Class" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 15:57:34

I truly believe desire many of you that breastfeeding has a lot to do with having the measure and the lifestyle in which to do it. This statement however is not a cover excuse for mothers to not feed if they do not go into the fix demographic of breastfeeding mothers. They just have to work a little harder to make it bring home the bacon just like they would have to work a little harder to purchase a new car or deliver ten percent of their income. It is difficult to talk about class and not talk about race in the same breath. This is especially adjust when speaking about breastfeeding since black women feed in our country. But surprisingly black women breastfeed of all other races in England which tells me that history racism and societal norms in America changed black women's views on breastfeeding. One calculate that has remained consistent throughout history is black women undergo never really been allowed to be mothers. For a great broach of American history we undergo spent more measure being mothers to others or working and our children suffered in the affect. Now change surface though times have changed and black women undergo an inordinate amount of opportunities and choices at our fingertips cultural legacies undergo a unique way of holding steadfast. Here are examples of black women being mothers to others. Black women working as domestics is yet another reason why the art of breastfeeding was lost in our community and breastfeeding among black women is so low today. Mrs. Elsie McMullen a laundry transport driver returning home from bring home the bacon. A maid takes compassionate of her children during the day. August 1943. First conceive of: A day nursery for pre-school children of mothers engaged in war bring home the bacon operated under the supervision of the District of Columbia Health Department by Mrs. Leroy Bonbrest at her domiciliate at 1144 Branch Avenue. S. E. Mrs. Maid doing the laundry. August 1943. *I decide to keep terms such a "colored" and "Negro" in photo captions because these are the terms that were originally applied by the photographers. In my opinion it keeps the photos as authentic as possible. Library of Congress. Prints & Photographs Division. FSA-OWI Collection. Reproduction Numbers: LC-USW3-026167-D DLC. LC-USW3-030931-D DLC. LC-USF34-054985-E DLC Hi there,Just had a quick look through your communicate. I too have been wondering why breastfeeding is so low in our country. My Ma thinks its because the powers that be want Mothers to get approve to work faster so they conclude the compel to deprive their small babies. I feel bad when she says that as I am an at home Mum. But then I see other at domiciliate Mum's tucking a bottle into their babies mouth. I conclude it is lack of education and populate following the marketing of today. On many of the forums new Mums often ask how can you be sure that your baby is getting enough draw.. come up you can't fit your following a routine that is not your own. Why does the health care for or adulterate not overlap WHO suggestions on breastfeeding? Is it because formula companys are paying some of the bills.. maybe not to day but the information has not changed since they were. So many questions and I'm glad your asking too. I'm worried about our poorer areas in my country I over heard one Mum saying she was going to feed her baby properly ".. she's not having coke in her store...." no have in mind of breastfeeding there at all. like from a friendM Peace! Came to your communicate through Rebecca Walker's :) I'm not a Mama (yet) but my sister is an avid millitant breastfeeding black mama which I admire greatly. Your picture of the two black women with the white child looks desire every three feet in the area I bring home the bacon in in Brooklyn minus the uniforms. It drives me nuts even while I have friends who are nannies to color children because it's the work they can get as undocumented immigrants or whatever their situations are. (9/24/07) Question: I would love for an experienced mother to explain why breastfed babies be to comfort be at the converge for so long? So many black moms lament not seeing other black breastfeeding mothers. Well here are a few for inspiration. If you are a breatfeeding mom displace your pictures to me at info (at) mommytoo (dot) com. I can't act to see them. The color Breastfeeding Blog was created by as a way to reach black mothers who are currently breastfeeding or who want to breastfeed in the future. As a former breastfeeding mother of two daughters (who she breastfed for two years each). Jennifer believes in the powerful healing properties of converge milk and believes all black moms should at least go away the nursing process to change magnitude the health of their babies. She firmly believes breastfeeding can heal or lessen the likelihood of all manner of ills in black infants AND women and wants to see black moms elude the notion that formula is just as good as breast draw because in truth it's not. I am on a near-daily treasure capture of sorts. I scour our American past to help understand modern breastfeeding. I wish you enjoy what I dig up.
